Coming off of a Podium finish in NASCAR Whelen Super Late Model Series, Jason Patison and Team headed to Gresham, GA for stop number 8 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. This event is the first time in over 20 years that the series has visited the 5/8 mile track and with the new high banked corners and race surface it promised to be a fast day at the races.

Carl Renezeder and crew set up at Glen Helen Raceway, full of optimism that the tough season they’ve had so far would finally turn around. The weekend hosted rounds nine and ten of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, and even with some positive highlights, the team loaded up in the very early hours of Monday morning with the burden of several disappointing results on their minds.

Saturday afternoon’s Chicagoland 100 proved to be a career‐day for two of the three Sam Schmidt drivers, but in the end, even with a 2‐3‐4 finish in the final standings, it was a tough pill for some involved to swallow given the respective situations of the drivers involved.

Lucas, 68, grew up poor. His first job was as a long-haul trucker. He eventually cobbled together a fleet of trucks. But he soon realized he had a problem: those trucks were breaking down, which cost time and money. Lucas decided he needed to do something about it and started tinkering around with some fuel additives he created himself. In 1989 he founded Lucas Oil, which has annual revenues north of $150 million and is now the world’s leader in additives and lubricants.
