After being bumped from the field on Pole Day, Vautier qualified for his first Indianapolis 500 with an average speed of 224.873 mph.

Lucas lost in the first round on Sunday at Heartland Park Topeka despite having the third-quickest elapsed time of the session. Only Shawn Langdon and Lucas’ opponent Doug Kalitta had better times.
