Governor Mike Braun Appoints Lucas Oil President Katie Lucas to Indiana Destination Development Corporation Board

Lucas to serve through June 2028, supporting statewide tourism and economic growth.

INDIANAPOLIS (Mar. 2, 2026) – Governor Mike Braun has appointed Lucas Oil President Katie Lucas to serve on the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) Board, supporting the state’s efforts to grow tourism, attract events and strengthen Indiana’s visitor economy. Lucas’ term will continue until June 2028.

The Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) board is a public-private agency governed by a seven-member board appointed by the governor. The mission of the IDDC is to promote, brand, and tell Indiana’s authentic story to attract and retain visitors.

“I’m honored by Governor Braun’s appointment and am grateful for his confidence,” said Katie Lucas, President of Lucas Oil. “Every year Indiana is giving sports fans and families more and more reasons to visit. With so many popular franchises and signature events, our state continues to grow as a top destination people want to keep coming back to. I have spent much of my career working alongside motorsports and professional sports partners as well as the teams behind major events—seeing firsthand how a great fan experience can shape perceptions of a place and build authentic connections that create real value for residents and businesses here. I am excited to join the IDDC and help keep Indiana’s momentum going into 2026 and beyond.”

Lucas’s experience working with sports franchises and community partners that draw high-profile events to the state and spotlight Indiana’s venues and hospitality make her an ideal addition to the IDDC. As President of Lucas Oil, she maintains close ties with organizations committed to strengthening Indiana’s status as a destination brand and driving year-round tourism.

Beyond her executive role, Lucas is well-known for her committed engagement in city and state-wide philanthropic and community initiatives. She serves as Board Chair of the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation and is on the boards and councils of the Indianapolis Zoo, Grit & Grace Nation Foundation, the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation, and the IU Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council. She is also the Founding Member and Inaugural Chair of Called to Care of Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
