Morgan and Katie Lucas Named Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals

INDIANAPOLIS (November 13, 2025) – Lucas Oil is proud to announce that CEO Morgan Lucas and President Katie Lucas have been named Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, recognizing their dedication to spearheading meaningful change and inspiring leadership across Indiana through a variety of philanthropic initiatives. The Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year awards honor individuals who have enhanced local philanthropy through leadership, generosity and impact and were presented at the 42nd Annual Indiana Philanthropy Awards.

“It’s a true honor to be recommended as Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year, even more so to have the achievement of receiving such a widely respected award,” said Morgan Lucas, Chief Executive Officer of Lucas Oil. “The most rewarding part of what we do at Lucas Oil is being able to create tangible change that the community can feel and see. As parents, the needs of this community are paramount to our family, and it is a privilege to be able to touch the lives of other families in such a meaningful way. This is the legacy my father, Forrest Lucas, wanted to leave, and we are so humbled to be recognized for prioritizing philanthropy as a core pillar of our work at Lucas Oil.”

The Association of Fundraising Professionals selected Morgan and Katie Lucas as the recipients of the Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year award due to their exceptional dedication to the vision and impact of Ascension St. Vincent Children’s Hospital, Wheeler Mission, Gleaners Food Bank and many other humanitarian causes throughout Indiana.

“To be recognized by such an upstanding and esteemed organization that does so much impactful work at both the state and local level is an incredible honor,” said Katie Lucas, President of Lucas Oil. “Our family and company are blessed to call Indiana home, and we find great purpose and fulfillment in being able to make an impact where we live and work.  We are grateful to receive this award and are committed to continuing to make a difference in our great state.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals-Indiana Chapter is a network of more than 370 professional fundraisers and service providers in central Indiana, all working on behalf of important nonprofit causes across the community. In 2025, Morgan and Katie, along with the Lucas family, celebrated the opening of the Lucas Family Brain and Spine Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, a state-of-the-art facility for advanced cranial and spine care that will transform the way patients receive treatment in the region – the culmination of more than 15 years of support for the hospital and its mission.

Under their leadership, Lucas Oil has deepened its philanthropic footprint, earning the 2025 Culture of Good Community Impact Award in recognition of the company’s exceptional corporate citizenship. The company’s support spans causes from pediatric healthcare to food and housing insecurity and that dedication is reflected in a deep-rooted culture of service across every level of the organization. Both Morgan and Katie are deeply engaged in the community, serving on the boards of numerous organizations and foundations throughout Indianapolis.
