LUCAS OIL HEADQUARTERS

We celebrated a momentous day this month when we unveiled our new global headquarters in Indianapolis with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking a significant milestone in our growth. Hosted by Crash Gladys, the event brought together Lucas Oil employees, long-term partners, and community leaders to celebrate our expansion. The move of Lucas Oil’s corporate headquarters from California to Indiana, alongside the opening of a new manufacturing facility, R&D labs, and grease plant in Corydon, solidifies our deepening roots in the Hoosier state. This relocation is not only a testament to our forward-thinking approach but also highlights our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in the automotive products industry.

Ribbon Cutting

The new headquarters, spanning over 70,000 square feet, is designed to foster collaboration and creativity. With state-of-the-art offices, premium amenities, a museum space featuring memorabilia, and a production studio for on-site content creation, the building serves as a hub for all of our employees to come together and push the boundaries of product development. Morgan and Katie both spoke about the Lucas family journey and the values that continue to drive our success. They emphasized our ongoing commitment to solving problems for customers and their desire to make a lasting impact on both the company’s future and the Indianapolis community we proudly call home.

Ribbon Cutting

The event also featured remarks from key figures like Kevin Speer, Senior Vice President at Ascension Indiana, and David Rosenberg, Indiana Secretary of Commerce, who highlighted the significant role Lucas Oil will play in Indiana’s economic landscape. As we continue to grow, our philanthropic efforts, such as supporting local hospitals and community initiatives, were also recognized. The day culminated in a ceremonial ribbon cutting, officially opening the doors to our new headquarters. Employees and guests were invited to explore the space, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the exciting possibilities ahead. The new headquarters is a clear reflection of our dedication to innovation, community engagement, and continued excellence in all aspects of its operations. We're so excited for what lies ahead in our new space!

Cold Flow

Motor oil is an important part of how an engine works, especially during cooler months. When temperatures drop, engine oil gets thicker and doesn't flow as easily to many crucial parts. This can contribute to premature parts wear over time. Let's learn more about how cooler weather affects motor oil and engines!

In colder weather, motor oil can become too thick. Imagine trying to pour honey out of a bottle on a cold day. It moves very slowly, right? This is similar to what happens to motor oil when it is cold. When oil is thick, it can’t reach all the parts of the engine as quickly, so the engine might not get enough lubrication. Lubrication is important because it helps to reduce friction and prevents wear between moving parts, which keeps the engine running smoothly.

Using the right type of motor oil in winter can help. Some oils are specially made to flow better in cold temperatures. These are called "winter" oils or multi weight oils. They have a lower number in their name, like 5W-30. The "W" stands for winter, and the number before it shows how well the oil flows in cold weather.

If the oil is too thick, it can also cause extra wear and tear on the engine. This can lead to problems that might be expensive to fix. Checking oil regularly and changing it when needed using the manufacturer's recommended weight is very important, especially in preparation for winter.

The good news is Lucas has many offerings of API-licensed engine oils in many different weights with the correct specification to help protect just about any engine, especially in the cold.

It’s important to use the right oil weight all the time but especially in the cooler months to ensure that your engine is properly lubricated on initial start–up and working efficiently.

Remember to check your oil, especially when the weather gets cold!

LEARNING LAB

This month’s recommendation is The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM) by Hal Elrod. The book emphasizes the importance of starting each day with purpose and intention to set the tone for a productive, fulfilling life.

The Miracle Morning

The book outlines the six-step S.A.V.E.R.S. method, a process to transform your life in as little as six minutes per day:

  1. Silence
  2. Affirmations
  3. Visualization
  4. Exercise
  5. Reading
  6. Scribing

Elrod argues that by committing to this morning routine, individuals can dramatically improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being, ultimately leading to greater success in both personal and professional life. He suggests that dedicating time to the Miracle Morning routine every day — even just for a short period — can lead to significant positive changes, especially when practiced consistently over time.

If you enjoy the book and want more from Hal Elrod, he also has a podcast: https://miraclemorning.com/podcasts/
