What’s one thing you can’t live without?
Family is my biggest
What’s something not a lot of people know about you?
I care more than people realize
Tell me about your family.
My wife of 8 years Kayli and I have 3 kids together, my son Aceten – 7, my daughter Madyn – 5, and my youngest son Kenson – 9 months. I also have an older daughter Paiten, who is 24. I have a great family. They are highly involved in what I do and get to go with me when I work.
What do you love about working at Lucas Oil?
I have been with Lucas Oil quite a while and I like how family oriented it is, which is how they have been from the start. They have always allowed me to include my family in what I do. I have worked a couple of different places before here, and with Lucas being able to include my family is huge. I have always wanted to be involved in motor sports since I was young, and Forrest and Charlotte gave me that opportunity.

This month, we’re diving into two transformative books by Patrick Lencioni that can elevate your team dynamics and individual contributions.
The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable
In this engaging fable, Lencioni explores the common pitfalls that undermine team effectiveness: absence of trust, fear of conflict, lack of commitment, avoidance of accountability, and inattention to results. Through relatable storytelling, he outlines practical strategies to overcome these challenges, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
The Ideal Team Player: How to Recognize and Cultivate the Three Essential Virtues
Building on the foundation of teamwork, Lencioni introduces the three key virtues of an ideal team player: humility, hunger, and emotional intelligence. This book provides insight into identifying these traits in yourself and others, along with actionable steps to nurture them, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing team.
Together, these books offer invaluable tools for anyone looking to strengthen their team’s dynamics and enhance individual contributions.
