Lucas Oil
High Ground - Never Tire of Doing Good

A MESSAGE FROM

MORGAN & KATIE

Following the exciting news of our Grease Plant announcement, we are delighted to officially unveil the details of the upcoming Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Scheduled for June 18th in Corydon, this event will mark a significant milestone as we celebrate the grand opening of the Grease Plant. We are excited to commemorate this momentous occasion and look forward to the promising future ahead. Production has already begun, and grease is now rolling off the line!

We have more exciting news to share. Congratulations to all teams who successfully prepared for and achieved our ISO 9001:2015 recertification! The dedication to maintaining strict quality management processes has been instrumental in retaining this level of certification. The ISO Quality Management System applies to our production and delivery of lubricants and problem-solving additives for the automotive, marine, and sports industries. The stringent requirements to maintain and renew our corporate certification highlights our team's commitment to world-class quality standards. We commend their consistent hard work and dedication to excellence.

As we reach the halfway mark of the year, Morgan and I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our dedicated team members. Your hard work and commitment have propelled us through an exhilarating first half of the year, marked by significant achievements for the organization. Thank you for your unwavering dedication.

We want your feedback!

We believe in the power of feedback and want to ensure all employees have a voice, and a safe place to share their thoughts, feelings, and suggestions. Starting Monday, June 3rd, we are launching monthly Pulse Surveys through Paylocity. These monthly, confidential surveys will allow us to collect valuable feedback from you so we can track the ‘pulse’ of our team, understand the things we are doing well, and identify ways that we can continue to improve your experience working with Lucas Oil.

  • How long is it? The surveys are between 7-10 questions and will take you less than 5 minutes to complete!
  • How do I fill out the survey? The surveys will be deployed through Paylocity. You can complete the surveys on the app or in your self-service portal. It is VERY easy!
  • How do I know my answers are confidential? We have run multiple tests and can confirm that no one, including HR, can see who submitted what responses. The data is presented to us in aggregate. We chose this because we want to enable you to be honest and candid with your feedback so we can collect accurate information to fuel real growth and change.
  • Why should I fill it out? The survey results will directly impact actions taken within the organization. We will use your feedback to keep improving our organization and your experience here at work. We will also share the survey results with you and keep you informed about how we plan to take action based on the results. If we don’t know where the opportunities are for improvement, then things will never change!
  • How long do I have to fill it out? Each survey will only be published for one week! It’s a short window, because we want to make sure we are quickly identifying opportunities to take action.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon and are very excited to see what kind of meaningful change we can create TOGETHER!

PTH - A Free and Fed America

Protect The Harvest, founded in 2011 by Forrest and Charlotte Lucas, has recently undergone a makeover, sporting a fresh logo and tagline (A Free and Fed America™), and an updated website. The organization, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, has realigned its focus to tackle pressing issues concerning food security, property rights, animal welfare, outdoor freedoms, and traditional liberties in today's political and social climate.

Driven by a mission to advocate for farmers, ranchers, property owners, and consumers, Protect The Harvest actively monitors various governmental and non-governmental activities that threaten food production, animal ownership, property rights, and personal freedoms. One of its notable endeavors includes submitting a brief to the Supreme Court of the U.S. in the California Proposition 12 case, highlighting the adverse effects of government overreach on farmers and food security.

The organization, led by Executive Director Dr. Mike Siemens, aims to be a formidable voice against the encroachment of extremist ideologies, regulatory burdens, and legislative hurdles that impede America's agricultural and rural communities. Despite challenges from ideological opposition, Protect The Harvest remains steadfast in its commitment to defend the rights and freedoms enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

In recognition of their significant contributions to agriculture and food security, Forrest and Charlotte Lucas were recently inducted into the Missouri Agriculture Hall of Fame. Their dedication to supporting Missouri agriculture, evidenced by initiatives such as the Lucas Cattle Co. and advocacy through Protect The Harvest, underscores their commitment to safeguarding America's farming heritage.

Through initiatives like the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation and the Drive to Feed Kids, Protect The Harvest and the Lucas family continue to address food insecurity, emphasizing the importance of ensuring adequate food for all citizens. Their recognition in the Agriculture Hall of Fame serves as a testament to their unwavering dedication to promoting A Free and Fed America™ where agriculture thrives, and food security is assured.

Speed up your Spring

A clean car is a happy car! With the sun shining and temperatures rising, now is the perfect time to give your vehicle a refreshing wash. Keeping your car clean is essential for preserving its finish and ensuring it stays in top condition. The finish of your vehicle needs regular care, much like the engine or the fuel system, and a wash is a great first step to remove road dirt and grime built up over time. Following your wash, applying Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax to the exterior painted surfaces is an incredibly easy way to add an excellent extra layer of paint protection.

Using Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax is as easy as spraying it on and wiping it off with a microfiber or soft towel. It removes hard water spots left behind from the wash and has a premium paint gloss intensifier to bring back that showroom shine. It also leaves behind a natural wax layer to reduce future build-up (like road grime, road tar, and bugs) and even offers a thin layer of UV protection for the painted surfaces. You can apply it wet or dry to achieve that showroom shine. The most common user praise is that they love the scent!

Speed Wax is not only great for the paint, but it works on plastic, glass vinyl wraps, chrome, aluminum, and just about anything you want to clean and shine up. Lucas Oil provides two additional car care essentials: Tire and Trim Shine, designed to revive that fresh tire appearance, and Interior Detailer, perfect for cleaning and safeguarding all interior components. These are just about as simple to use...spray them on and wipe them off!

With Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax, Tire and Trim Shine, and Interior Detailer, car care is FAST and EASY!

MARKETING MATTERS

We're excited to share that Lucas Oil Stadium will host the prestigious USA Swim Trials, a pivotal event in American swimming. These trials determine the athletes who will represent the USA in the Olympics, drawing elite competitors and widespread attention. This event is poised to become the largest attended swim meet in history, aiming to surpass the world record set during the 2016 Rio Olympics. Anticipating over 16,000 fans on opening night, the goal is to surpass 250,000 single-session tickets over the span of the 10-day meet.

The stadium will undergo a remarkable transformation, converting from a renowned football arena to a world-class swimming venue. Intricate engineering and construction techniques to install a temporary Olympic-standard pool within the stadium will be at the center of building a successful event. Hosting the USA Swim Trials not only showcases Lucas Oil Stadium's versatility but also highlights Indianapolis' dynamic sports community.

What is the best trip you’ve been on?
In 2004, my wife, kids and I took 17 days and drove to the Grand Canyon and every place in between. We stayed in hotels, cabins and had several nights under the stars in a tent. Enjoy your kids, they grow up too fast!

If you could pick any superpower, what would you pick and why?
It would be a new superhero: “Anti-Lazy Man” Riddling the world of laziness!

What do you love about working at Lucas Oil?
My favorite part of Lucas Oil is that back in 2009 Forrest Lucas saw something in me and gave me nearly free rein to design and change things to make our operation better. His willingness to trust me gave me the push I needed to realize, as most everyone that knows me has heard me say, “you can do anything you want to if you want to learn how.”

LINKS TO LEVEL UP

This month's book recommendation is Good Awkward: How to Embrace the Embarrassing and Celebrate the Cringe to Become the Bravest You by Henna Pryor.

Good Awkward

As someone who feels awkward a lot of the time, I felt seen when I read this book! In a world full of picture-perfect social media feeds, it’s easy to play the comparison game and feel like you’re the only person who ever feels awkward or uncomfortable. This book helped me realize that if I don't feel at least a little awkward, I'm probably not challenging myself personally or professionally. The book is a quick read and the author’s tone keeps the book engaging, but she also did a Ted Talk on awkwardness that’s about 15 minutes long if you want the short version.
