The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series was founded in 2005, and sanctions 38 events all over the country.  Since its inception, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has paid out millions in race purse and point fund money.  The series features the absolute best-of-the-best late model dirt teams in the world and receives national television exposure through Speed, Versus and MavTV.  All of which are television networks that internationally reach hundreds of millions of households.

Dirt Late Models feature aluminum bodies that give them the appearance of a stock car, but there is nothing ?stock? about these $50,000 racecars.  The chassis is fully fabricated from Chromalloy steel tubing, and is powered by a 700-horsepower, all-alluminum high-performance engine.  The engines are based on V-8 Chevrolet, Ford, and Mopar power plants and fueled by high-performance methanol.
