Key West World Championships
The Super Boat International national season is a wrap and the 77 Lucas Oil MAVTV SilverHook 48GP team were crowned the Super Vee Extreme National Champions. Following their consistent performance with the fastest V-Hull in the USA, the team is now preparing for the Key West World Championships, where the winner of a three-race series will be awarded the title of World Champion. “Our Key West plans are well underway and we are expecting at least ten boats in our new class, Superboat Extreme. Michael and I are really looking forward to racing against a couple of our old European rivals, the Ukrainian team in their Maltese built boat and an Italian team in their diesel powered Metamarine boat, both of which are being shipped over from Europe. Also, thrown into the mix is the formidable English duo of James Sheppard and Miles Dobson, who are competing in a Skater V399 this year”, declared Nigel Hook, Captain of the 77 Lucas Oil MAVTV SilverHook 48GP.
The Key West race week schedule is packed full of activities starting Sunday, November 4th with Duval Street boat parade at 4:00 pm so be sure to sign in and register with livestream to receive texts whenever new images or live streaming is being broadcast.
Nigel and Michael would like to thank the team of experts who have prepared this first SilverHook 48GP race model to be so competitive and we are proud to announce that the SilverHook 48GT pleasure version, sister to our 48GP race version, will be unveiled in Key West, home of the Super Boat World Championships for 32 years.
