VIP Reception: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Two Indianapolis corporate leaders, INDYCAR and Lucas Oil, are creating an event that celebrates one of our city’s riches traditions, the Indy 500, but also gives back to our community. For this year’s inaugural Indy 500 Soiree Presented by Lucas Oil the focus will be raising money for Teammates for Kids and their Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health – Child Life Zone project.

A team built with integrity and in partnership with professional athletes, celebrities, organizations, and fans, the Teammates for Kids Foundation, co-founded in 1999 by Garth Brooks, develops and implements innovative concepts that generate funds for children charities. Teammates for Kids contributes financial resources to selected nonprofit organizations that serve and benefit children with an emphasis on health, education and inner city services.

Teammates for Kids has built Child Life Zones in Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma City, New York, Atlanta, Denver, Fort Worth and, projected for 2013, in Indianapolis. As Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health President and CEO Dr. Jeff Sperring explains: “We are honored and grateful that Teammates for Kids has selected Riley to receive this gift of a Child Life Zone. Teammates for Kids recognizes the important role Child Life plays in children’s healing. The Child Life Zone at Riley will feature spaces where children and their families will be able to play and receive therapy. We know the space will be incredible. Even more incredible, however, will be how our Child Life professionals use this space to produce better outcomes for Riley patients and families.”
