Rockstar Energy Shane Stewart Knoxville Nationals The 50th Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil is the biggest event on the sprint car racing calendar. Not only was it the golden anniversary with $150,000 going to the winner, but the very best winged race car pilots from around the world came to Knoxville to compete. For perspective, a standard “A-Main” event might pay out $10,000 to the winner. For the Goodyear Knoxville National, each driver would earn $9,500 just for starting.

The 2010 Iowa Speedweek took place over 10 straight days of racing starting out with the 20th Annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 and ending with The 'Granddaddy Of Them All', the 50th annual Goodyear Knoxville National 410. Each of these races are significant in their own right with notable prestige on the line amongst the peers and fans. However, being the kickoff event and event finale, made the races the most important competitions to do well in due to the exposure and sizeable cash purses to be awarded.

Rockstar Energy Shane Stewart Knoxville Nationals On August 11th Rockstar Driver Shane Stewart would declare his intentions to prevail over next weekend’s big race by winning Iowa’s Speedweek opening event. Shane Stewart scored a 3rd place finish during his Heat Race and went onto win his A-Main worth $12,000 and Stewart’s fourth career victory at Knoxville.

Rockstar Energy Shane Stewart Knoxville Nationals A capacity crowd of 35,000 packed Knoxville to witness a truly historic event. One Hundred drivers from the U.S. Canada, Australia, New Zealand and from around the world would present their very best effort. Many were eliminated. Crashes and mechanical failure took a toll on the field of impressive competitors. Every person in attendance was treated to a dramatic and action packed race for glory. Besides the fans, only the Rockstar talent of Shane Stewart and two others would be left standing. In a breath taking wheel to wheel conclusion, Stewart would take third by a very slim margin under 2nd when the race leader began trailing smoke on the last two lap drive.

“This was absolutely amazing” said Shane from the podium. “To race in front of a crowd like this and with all the top drivers, It feels great to be up here. I got to thank my crew for a top performing machine, Rockstar Energy for powering my program, and for Lucas Oil for all their great support.”
