Lucas Oil Stadium and Indianapolis Colts on Track
With the construction of Lucas Oil Stadium underway it looks like everything is on schedule for the future home of the Indianapolis Colts to make headlines in 2008. For time being, the defending AFC Southern Division champions are giving everyone something to talk about. After a hard-fought battle with the New York Jets the Colts now sit atop their division and are 1 of only 4 teams left undefeated in the NFL.
Sunday’s game between the Colts (4-0) and Jets (2-2) turned out to be the most exciting game of the season thus far. After swapping the lead several times in the final minutes of action, it all came down to one play, a 1-yard quarterback keep with 50 seconds remaining. With time expiring Payton Manning followed his offensive line into the end zone, securing the victory for his team. Interviewers caught up with Manning after the game to get his thoughts on the exciting, last-minute play.
"I was pumped," Manning said. "You practice those two-minute drills all the time. Everybody's played that backyard game where you envision the last play of the game. Anytime you can do it in New York, it adds a little something to it."
The Colts will be facing the Tennessee Titans at home this weekend in hopes of continuing their gridiron domination. Check back for updates on the Colts and on the Lucas Oil Stadium!
