Lucas Oil Forms Partnership with S.C.R.E.A.M. and Ford Focus Midget Series

Lucas Oil Products recently announced they have formed a multi-year partnership as the Official Oil with Small Car Racing Engines and More, Inc., also known as S.C.R.E.A.M. The Southern California based company is the exclusive engine supplier to the Ford Focus Midget Series.

Additionally, Lucas Oil Products will be named as a major sponsor for the S.C.R.E.A.M./Ford Focus Midget Chili Bowl Challenge. This program includes a series of qualification races in each region in an effort to name 25 drivers who will have the opportunity to compete in the annual Chili Bowl contested each January in Tulsa, Okla.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Lucas Oil to showcase our product line to a new up and coming type of American motorsports,” said Bob Patison, Vice President, Lucas Oil Products. “By forming a marketing partnership with SCREAM and the Ford Focus Midget Series, we are putting our products in front of a growing number of racers, fans and companies, such as Ford, and that always has a positive effect.”

President of S.C.R.E.A.M., Keith Iaia, began initial development work on a Midget car in 1997 with the intent of providing affordable, reliable, entry-level Midget racing. S.C.R.E.A.M. then teamed up with Ford Racing Technology as a developmental partner and engine supplier and eventually formed a partnership with the United States Auto Club to provide sanctioning services.

The Ford Focus Midget Series is the fastest growing open wheel series in the country and is already outranks all other United States Auto Club (USAC) divisions in terms of registered competitors and car counts.

What originally started in the Southern California region in 2002, the Ford Focus Midget series has expanded their reach to cover new regions that include Northern California, the Midwest, North Carolina/Virginia and the Indianapolis Speedrome. USAC is also recognizing the Northeast as a developmental region for the 2004 season. The 2005 season will also bring the Sunshine State, Oklahoma and the Northwest as recognized regions.

Lucas Oil Products, the world leader of heavy duty and high-performance oils, greases and additives, has been a long time sponsor of the motorsports industry through multiple series, race and team sponsorships. Based in Corona, Calif., Lucas Oil Products is one of the fastest growing additive lines in the consumer automotive industry. Through innovative product research and development, along with aggressive marketing programs, Lucas Oil Products has established itself as the top selling additive line in the auto part retailers and American truck stop industries.
