Swedish driver Michael Silfverberg and veteran Anglo-American Nigel Hook are uniting their two nations to compete in two weeks in the 29th Annual SBI World Championships held in Key West forming the new entry #77 Lucas Oil Scandinavian Offshore Challenge. Michael and Nigel will pilot the Super Vee Skater V399 with Mercury power, the World Championship winner in 2006. “I’ve test driven on the water with Michael at speeds in excess of what we’ll be running on the Key West track," said Nigel.

Ahten racing again qualified in the top half of a very tough field. With 25 dragsters from all over the country in attendance just getting into the field of 16 would be an accomplishment. With a 5.38, Johnny and team were able to secure the #8 position heading into eliminations on Sunday.

Larry Morgan has been winless for 169 races dating back to 2002. He won his 10th race of his career at the Lucas Oil NHRA Las Vegas Nationals. He beat points leader Mike Edwards in the second round on a whole-shot and stopped him from claiming the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock Championship. Edwards will have to wait until Pomona to be crowned the champion in Pro Stock.
