One week ago today, Carl Renezeder and crew got set up at Glen Helen Raceway, full of optimism that the tough season they’ve had so far would finally turn around. The weekend hosted rounds nine and ten of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, and even with some positive highlights, the team loaded up in the very early hours of Monday morning with the burden of several disappointing results on their minds.

With his spot in the Countdown to the Championship secure, Top Fuel driver Shawn Langdon is looking to put it all together this weekend and win the 29th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway.

"I've always had a curiosity about coming over and seeing what drag racing is like," Papis said. "I would love to get an opportunity to see how one of these things feel – and not just from the stands." Papis got a tour of the MLR shop in Brownsburg, Ind., from Morgan Lucas, driver of the GEICO Powersports/Lucas Oil dragster, and Lucas said he was impressed by how much Papis was interested in the technical aspects of drag racing.

Lucas Oil and the entire drag boat racing community mourns the loss of championship drag boat racer, John Haas, who lost his life while qualifying at the Mid-America Summer Nationals in Chouteau, Oklahoma during the weekend of August 7-8, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deanna, their two sons, Joey and John, Jr., and his mother, Rose.

Deegan beat some of the biggest names in North America rally, including his Fiesta teammate Ken Block in round one, Travis Pastrana in a quarterfinal match-up, and eventual bronze medal winner Andrew Comrie-Picard in the semifinals.

Freestyle moto-x legend and 10-time X Games medalist Brian Deegan will be piloting a Rockstar Energy / Lucas Oil Rally car in the X Games 16 Rally and SuperRally racing events July 29 – August 1. “I am stoked to be back driving a rally car for X Games this year. Rally cars are badass, they have so much horsepower and are really fun to drive,” said Brian Deegan.”

Hundreds of spectator boats lined the perimeter of the racetrack, which featured seven right-handers and two left-hand dog-legs making it a real driver's course. “After reviewing the telemetry data from qualifying practice laps with Kieran Ironmonger from Race Technology, we decided to select a smaller pitch prop than usual,” said Nigel Hook, Captain of the #77 Lucas Oil SOC. The smaller pitch offered increased acceleration rather than top end speed -- a strategy that gave driver Michael Silfverberg more power out of the corners to take advantage of the special characteristics of the Mannerfelt designed hull.

Elena once again elevated her game on raceday, climbing up from her second row grid position to take control of third position aboard her GSX-R600 early in the SuperSport contest. However, the race was red flagged while she held the spot in front of a hungry pack of challengers, resetting the grid.
